Fashion, by its very nature, encourages people to buy lots of clothes they probably don’t really need, observes Charlotte Hardie 

This isn’t to say that the sector isn’t honest in its ambitions to be better businesses. Nearly always, its leaders want to find ways to make clothing production less toxic. They want to reduce carbon emissions. They want to reduce waste to landfill. They want to eradicate human rights issues in supply chains. Progress is being made. Mindsets have shifted.
